Planting trees in areas where streams begin - September 25, 2007

The bank at which our instructor is employed has advised the staff to engage in social activities in the regions it covers. Our instructor proposed a Tree Planting Project, which Mr. Nihal Rathnayake, his manager, accepted. As a result, the bank provided us with 200 valuable plants, transport and other facilities (tea and refreshments).

Ranugalla and Kotamuduna are the two places that we selected for our first project.
Our Chairman Sujith Dissanaya took us to the streams. It was a hard journey but we had great fun while doing this task.

Branch Manager and Area Manager of UDB and some of the parents also participated

Members of our club will be looking after these plants. We plan to launch similar projects in seven other places that we have selected. We will give you more information about this project, and you will be able to see our way of caring for the environment in the near future.

We have investigated more about these water resources and have collected information regarding them. We hope to make a presentation that will show some of the most suitable ways to protect water resources. (Please send us your views with regard to this project.)
