We hope to give a computer to every member during 2008. So far we have given 20 computers to members' homes This opportunity is something extremely rare in a village like ours. Many homes do not have even a TV or a proper table to keep one on. We give the children multimedia computers although they are PII or PIII models. Sometimes we may be able to give them new computers. I feel that it is more appropriate for the children to get average machines. With these we teach them to make optimum use of the features. When they receive a higher grade computer later on, they will see the differences and will learn many new things
The child who is used to life with the minimum of facilities experiences immense joy when he gets a computer. This obviously is the most rewarding aspect of the four-year history of our organisation. Our task does not end with the giving of a computer. We continue to monitor their use. The pen drives received through LearnAid help in sharing data among computers. The computers in some children's homes are used by their parents. When problems occur in the computers it is the parents who take the interest to get them solved. This encourages us further. Please donate your institution's or your used computers that are in working order to us. This will help the children in our village to have a better future.
